Yasunori Nakajima

Yasunori Nakajima (中島 康紀) is a bureau investigator with Tokyo Ghoul's CCG, stationed at the branch in the 20th Ward. He is a tall, middle-aged man with short black hair who dresses in a formal suit worn with an open collar. Brusque in manner yet generally kind, he served as the partner of Ippei Kusaba, a colleague and friend with whom he regularly went out to eat.

Nakajima and Kusaba took part in the investigation of "Suspect 723" — Ryouko Fueguchi — an operation led by Kureo Mado and Koutarou Amon. During the ambush on the mother ghoul and her daughter Hinami Fueguchi, the pair were the first investigators the ghouls noticed; when Ryouko unleashed her kagune, Nakajima was struck in the face before the daughter fled.

His deepest wound came not from combat but from loss. Shortly after the case closed, Kusaba was killed before his eyes by Rabbit — Touka Kirishima — and only Amon's intervention spared Nakajima's own life. Grieving at the funeral, he shared memories of his partner with Amon, who unexpectedly lifted his spirits.
