Synopsis
Hinami Fueguchi is a young ghoul whose parents are both killed by CCG investigators before the series begins. Taken in by Anteiku after her mother's death, she quickly forms close, almost sibling-like bonds with both Ken Kaneki and Touka Kirishima, who become her protectors and de facto family.
Gentle, bookish, and eager to learn, Hinami shows a striking lack of vengefulness for a child who lost everything to the CCG, caring more about the wellbeing of the people around her than about revenge. That pacifism gradually gives way to resolve as she grows older, learning to fight so she can protect the found family that protected her.
After Anteiku's destruction, Hinami joins Aogiri Tree and later Kaneki's group, maturing from the frightened child hiding in Anteiku's back room into a capable fighter and, eventually, a teacher figure for the next generation within the peacekeeping organization Goat — carrying forward the found-family ideals Anteiku first gave her.
