Synopsis
Tsubaki Sawabe is one of the leads of Your Lie in April, a third-year softball player who has been Kousei Arima's close friend since childhood. She is kind, outgoing, and quick to defend her friends, though her temper flares easily and she sometimes acts before thinking things through.
Her bond with Kousei runs deep: while he spent his childhood at the piano, she made him small gifts and comforted him after his mother got rid of a cat he had taken in. Classmates found her unusual for it, and over time she started to see herself the same way.
Tsubaki is slow to recognize her own feelings for Kousei, hiding them behind a smile and breaking down only in private. She still carries an injured Kousei on her back despite being hurt herself, and both Ryota Watari and Kaori Miyazono notice her feelings long before she admits them, though neither says so out loud.
She has straight, chin-length chestnut hair that curls at the ends and warm brown eyes, and is usually seen in her school uniform or her softball gear with the cap worn backward.
