Synopsis
Kaori Miyazono is the female lead of Your Lie in April, a gifted violinist and the only daughter of Ryouko and Yoshiyuki Miyazono. Her playing mirrors her personality entirely — loose, unpredictable, and unwilling to follow the score the way it was written.
She attended junior high as a third-year student alongside Tsubaki Sawabe, and first met Kousei Arima after asking Tsubaki to set her up with Ryota Watari. As she and Kousei grew closer, her presence became the reason he found his way back to the piano after his mother's death.
Kaori is independent, short-tempered, and occasionally passive-aggressive, yet underneath that she is warm and empathetic — comforting a lost child in a mall, or sitting with Kousei through his darkest moments. Technically her performances are messy, but judges at the Towa Hall competition acknowledge that the raw emotion in her playing outweighs any imprecision.
She has an average build for her age, long wavy blonde hair, and pale indigo eyes, and is rarely seen without her violin and a pink suitcase.
