Synopsis
Senzaemon Nakiri is one of the most respected figures in the culinary world, founder of Tōtsuki Culinary Academy and its Director until his son-in-law, Azami Nakiri, seized the position, which Senzaemon reclaims for his granddaughter after Azami's defeat. Known throughout the industry as the Food's Demon King, he built the academy specifically to forge the finest chefs of every generation.
Senzaemon holds an iron-clad, unforgiving philosophy about culinary excellence and rarely shows he's impressed, save for an unusual tell: his robe or undergarment tends to loosen on its own whenever a dish genuinely moves him, a quirk only he ever seems to notice. He values tenacity and courage above raw talent, taking a particular interest in the innovative, unconventional 92nd generation.
A loving but fair family man, Senzaemon exiled Azami once he discovered the abusive training inflicted on Erina Nakiri, and refused to let his affection for either granddaughter cloud his judgment, once overruling Erina to admit Sōma Yukihira and later ranking Alice Nakiri's dish below Sōma's in competition.
