Synopsis
Erina Nakiri is one of the series' heroines, a member of the prestigious Nakiri family and the top-ranked student of the 92nd Tōtsuki generation. She was born with an extraordinarily precise palate nicknamed God's Tongue, capable of judging any dish's quality down to its exact flaws, and by age four she was already tasting professional food for the culinary industry. She later becomes Headmaster of Tōtsuki Academy after the rebel alliance's victory in the Regimental Shokugeki.
Raised in privilege, Erina is proud and initially struggles to connect with people, a trait rooted in an abusive childhood training regimen imposed by her father, Azami, and in her mother's abandonment. Her grandfather, Senzaemon Nakiri, exiled Azami once he learned of the abuse, but the emotional damage lingers into her teenage years.
Everything changes once Erina moves into the Polar Star Dormitory and befriends its residents, including her secretary Hisako Arato and her cousin Alice Nakiri. Her growing bond with Sōma Yukihira, whose father once cooked for her as a child, gradually reshapes her rigid idea of what good food, and a good chef, should be.
