Synopsis
Sadao Maou, also known as Satan Jacob, is the former Demon King and protagonist of Hataraku Maou-sama!. Having waged war on Ente Isla in an attempt to unite its four continents, he was defeated by the Hero Emilia Justina and forced to flee to Earth, losing nearly all of his power in the process.
In Tokyo, the former tyrant reinvents himself as a diligent part-timer at the MgRonald's fast-food chain, climbing the retail ranks alongside his former generals Shirō Ashiya and Hanzō Urushihara. Despite his fearsome reputation back home, Maou always sought to minimize bloodshed and genuinely cared for his people's welfare, even as his orders were carried out with brutal excess by others.
Life on Earth draws him closer to his old rival Emi Yusa and his coworker Chiho Sasaki, while his neighbor Suzuno Kamazuki long suspects him of plotting something sinister. Though shorn of his demonic power, Maou never loses his strategic mind — the same drive that once united the Demon Realm now fuels his rise from part-timer to shift manager.
