Synopsis
Yayoi Kunizuka spent her early career as a musician in the Sibyl-approved band Amalgam, until her friendship with rebellious singer Rina Takizaki darkened her Psycho-Pass through association and got her removed from the approved-artist list. Recruited out of a rehabilitation center by Shinya Kogami, she joined Division 01 of the Public Safety Bureau as an Enforcer largely in hopes of finding Takizaki again — a reunion that ended in heartbreak when her Dominator, not yet registered to her, failed to fire on the woman she still loved.
As an Enforcer, Kunizuka is calm and unflappable under pressure, valued for her skill directing drones in the field, and quietly protective of the people around her — she treats fellow Enforcer Shusei Kagari like a younger brother and comforts Mika Shimotsuki after the loss of a classmate. Her most enduring relationship is with Analyst Shion Karanomori, whom she loves deeply despite her own insecurities about Karanomori's flirtatious nature.
By the time of Psycho-Pass 3, Kunizuka has left the Bureau to work as a journalist, her Psycho-Pass restored below the criminal threshold, though she still lends her investigative skills when Division 01 needs them.
