Ging Freecss

Ging Freecss is Gon's father, a Double-Star Hunter and a former Zodiac under the sign of the Boar. He is the only grandson of Gon's great-grandmother and a cousin of Mito.

He is short — barely taller than his son — with the same hazel eyes as Gon, stubble and spiky black hair. When first introduced he wears a visor wrapped in cloth, plain baggy white trousers and a long-sleeved shirt.

He is shy and stubborn at once: he would only agree to meet Gon alone, calling it cowardly to bring a friend along — which led one of his associates to wonder whether he was simply afraid of crowds. He is volatile but exceptionally intelligent, capable of laying flawless plans years ahead while occasionally acting on incomplete information. He clearly holds the late Chairman Netero in high regard.

He left Whale Island shortly before turning twelve to take the 267th Hunter Exam and never returned. He has since become extraordinarily wealthy — Kurapika, finding no information about him online at all, assumed he must hold the power and fortune of a head of state.

He qualifies for a Triple-Star License but, out of shyness and stubbornness, has never applied for one. Voiced by Rikiya Koyama in the 2011 series and Hiroki Tōchi in the 1999 one.
