Synopsis
Canary is an apprentice butler of the Zoldyck household who guards the approach to the estate. She is the one who stopped Gon, Leorio and Kurapika on their way up.
She is a dark-skinned teenage girl with grey eyes and bushy dark hair pulled into thick bunches, each tied near the tip. Her face is round, her nose small and her lips full, and she wears the standard Zoldyck butler suit. The 1999 adaptation gives her mostly red hair, green eyes and lighter skin.
She first comes across as a ruthless guard who attacks trespassers without hesitation. As Gon noticed, though, she is nowhere near as heartless as she pretends: for a fraction of a second her eyes convey gentleness or concern before she suppresses it. Her loyalty to Killua has led her to disobey orders more than once, to varying degrees.
Her strength is entirely real: at ten years old she took down a Blacklist Hunter and a hundred of his men attempting to get past her post, and did it within minutes.
Her reflexes are exceptional — she reacted in time during a car crash and kept pace with Killua, Amane and Gotoh at high speed. Voiced by Motoko Kumai in the 2011 series and Reiko Kiuchi in the 1999 one.
