Synopsis
Armin Arlert is the 15th and current Commander of the Survey Corps, named to the position by Hange Zoë, and one of the two deuteragonists of Attack on Titan alongside his childhood friend Mikasa Ackerman. Though among the physically weakest of the 104th Training Corps, his strategic mind makes him an invaluable asset, especially paired with Hange's expertise.
As a child, Armin's fascination with the world beyond the Walls, sparked by a forbidden book from his grandfather, made him a target for bullies who branded him a heretic — a burden he too timid to fight off himself, relying instead on Eren Yeager and Mikasa for protection. That sense of being a burden left him with poor self-esteem and a lasting drive to prove his worth, one that eventually pays off after the Battle of Shiganshina, when he takes the power of the Colossus Titan from Bertolt Hoover.
