Synopsis
Hange Zoë was the 14th Commander of the Survey Corps, named to the position by Erwin Smith before his death. Previously the leader of the Fourth Squad, Hange was responsible for innovative research on Titans, including studying Eren Yeager himself, before taking on Erwin's full command responsibilities. Upon their own death, they were succeeded by Armin Arlert.
Energetic and freethinking, Hange approaches both people and Titans with an unusually observant, objective curiosity. What began as hatred toward Titans after joining the Corps shifted into genuine scientific fascination once Hange discovered how unexpectedly light a Titan's severed head actually was, driving years of research and real compassion for the Titan test subjects under their care. As the war intensified, Hange grew quieter and more serious, but never lost the deep empathy that defined their leadership.
