Synopsis
Bertolt Hoover was an Eldian and one of Marley's Warriors, brainwashed since childhood into believing his acts of terrorism were honorable. He possessed the ability to transform into the Colossus Titan, and in 845 he, Reiner Braun and Annie Leonhart breached Wall Maria in an attempt to lure out and capture the Founding Titan for Marley.
Quiet and self-described as weak-willed, Bertolt tended to fade into the background and follow popular opinion rather than assert himself, later joining the military under a false identity until his true nature as the Colossus Titan was exposed. Though his withdrawn manner initially made him seem the least emotionally affected of the three infiltrators, he proved to be far more conflicted and guilt-ridden than his comrades realized, showing fierce devotion to both Reiner and Annie whenever either was threatened.
