Synopsis
Yukitaka Akiha is the husband of Chikane Akiha and father of Rumiho Akiha, a warm, hardworking man who treats everyone with respect, even eccentric acquaintances like Okabe and Daru. In his college years he was close friends with Shouichi Makise, later known as Dr. Nakabachi, and for a time funded his time-travel research.
When his own business ran into trouble, Yukitaka had to withdraw that support, a decision that eventually forced the Makise family to relocate to Aomori and whose consequences ripple on for years. After later receiving the legendary IBN 5100 computer from Suzuha Amane, he entrusted it to the shrine cared for by Eisuke Urushibara's family.
A few years before the story begins, Yukitaka dies in a plane crash, the flight's only casualty. In some versions of the timeline, his daughter manages to avert his death with a D-Mail, though not without setting off new and often unpredictable consequences of its own.
