Synopsis
Rumiho Akiha is the daughter of Yukitaka and Chikane Akiha, part-owner and waitress of the maid café MayQueen+Nyan², where Mayuri Shiina also works, and easily the café's most popular attraction. Under her stage persona, Faris NyanNyan, she peppers her speech with a playful nya and claims she can read people's true feelings through what she calls her Cheshire Break.
Behind the ditzy act is someone unusually perceptive and self-conscious, constantly weighing how her words and actions land on others. The Faris persona works as a kind of shield, letting her stay cheerful and carefree in public without exposing what she actually feels.
Rumiho's family owns a large share of Akihabara, and a butler named Kuroki looks after their household. As a child she dreamed of running her own maid café, but her father refused. When he cancelled her eighth birthday celebration for a business trip, a hurt and angry Rumiho told him she wished he were dead, and he died in a plane crash that same day. The guilt from that last exchange has stayed with her ever since, even though his death is ultimately what let her open the café she had always wanted.
