Synopsis
Kurona Yasuhisa was born into a wealthy family and once dreamed of nothing grander than opening her own restaurant. That future ended the day a ghoul broke into her home and killed both her parents in front of her and her twin sister, Nashiro. Taken in as CCG wards, the twins grew up wanting to become investigators themselves, sharing classes with a young Juuzou Suzuya — still going by the name Rei at the time — and hearing Koutarou Amon, then a guest lecturer, use the term "one-eyed ghoul" for the first time.
Neither girl became an investigator. Instead, Akihiro Kanou manipulated and experimented on them, turning both sisters into artificial one-eyed ghouls. Kurona emerged from her grief cold and nihilistic, blaming humanity itself for her misfortune — but her devotion to Nashiro only deepened, to the point that she drops any mission the instant her sister is in danger.
When Kanou abandons the pair after Nashiro is critically wounded, Kurona's grief tips into madness: she fuses with her dying sister's body, absorbing her entirely, and resurfaces during the Rushima Landing Operation as a being the CCG comes to call Floppy. Convinced Nashiro is somehow still alive inside her, Kurona turns her fury on Kanou and on Suzuya, the very people who once shared a classroom with her.
