Synopsis
Ukobach is a stove spirit and the familiar of Mephisto Pheles, appointed to prepare meals for Rin and Yukio Okumura at their dormitory. He appears only in the anime adaptation.
Fiercely proud of his cooking and territorial about his kitchen, Ukobach initially resents Rin for using the dorm kitchen without permission, refusing to cook for the brothers until a cooking contest between the two reveals Rin's skills are a match for his own, sparking a genuine friendship built on their shared love of food.
Ukobach cannot tolerate disrespect toward the meals he prepares, once retaliating fiercely after students discarded a lunch he and Rin had made together under a mistaken assumption about who cooked it. Beyond his temper, his greatest satisfaction comes simply from making the people around him happy through his cooking.
