Synopsis
Rin Okumura is the protagonist of Blue Exorcist. He is the son of the exorcist Yuri Egin and the demon king Satan, the elder twin of Yukio Okumura, and the adopted son of the priest Shiro Fujimoto. Rin's demonic heritage stayed hidden until Satan attacked his childhood home, forcing Rin to awaken his flame powers at the cost of Shiro's life.
Determined to become an exorcist and settle the score with his biological father, Rin enrolls at True Cross Academy under the watch of the school's principal, Mephisto Pheles. His constant companion is his familiar, the cat sidhe Kuro, once Shiro's own familiar.
Despite his rough manners and short temper, Rin is warm-hearted and fiercely loyal, always defending his friends and pushing himself to be worthy of his brother's respect. His impulsiveness and refusal to take his studies seriously frequently put him at odds with Yukio, even as the two brothers remain bound by grief over their father's death and the shared burden of their demonic blood.
