Synopsis
Kazuki Tomori is the older brother of Nao Tomori and once possessed the ability to manipulate air vibrations, which he used as the lead guitarist of an up-and-coming band. A record deal fell through when their mother, unable to afford a magnet school for Nao, enrolled both siblings in a boarding school secretly tied to researchers studying ability users.
Kazuki became one of their experimental subjects, and the toll broke him — by the time Nao tracked him down, he no longer recognized her and had lost both his ability and much of his former self. He has lived in a sanatorium ever since, the caring and goal-driven traits from his old life barely visible beneath a hollow, unfocused demeanor.
A visit from Yuu Otosaka and musician Sara Shane — whose band he once admired — becomes a turning point: her singing reaches something in him that nothing else could, and he begins, tentatively, to recognize his sister again.
