Synopsis
John Titor is the alias used by a mysterious figure claiming to be a time traveler from 2036, appearing in different years depending on the timeline: 2010 in the Alpha Attractor Field, 2000 in the Beta. The name first comes up when Rintarou Okabe accuses Dr. Nakabachi of stealing time-travel theories that supposedly belong to Titor.
Later, someone using the same alias appears on the online board @channel, warning of a bleak future that SERN's research will eventually create. Exchanges with this Titor help Okabe recognize his own ability to keep his memories across shifting timelines, later named Reading Steiner, and push him to try to cross the 1% divergence threshold to avoid that outcome.
The alias is eventually revealed to belong to Suzuha Amane, who adopts it in 2010 while searching for her own father, Itaru Hashida, known in this guise as Barrel Titor.
