Synopsis
Seidou Takizawa is a former Rank 2 Ghoul Investigator, later partnered with Kousuke Houji during the investigation of the Gourmet in the 20th ward. An earnest admirer of elite investigators like Koutarou Amon and Kishou Arima, he is nonetheless driven by a gnawing inferiority complex that puts him at odds with his peers.
That insecurity, paired with genuine ambition, pushes Takizawa to take dangerous risks in pursuit of recognition. Facing the ghoul Tatara alongside Amon at the end of the Owl Suppression Operation proves catastrophic — he is defeated and left in Aogiri Tree's hands, where he is forcibly transformed into an artificial one-eyed ghoul against his will.
The transformation and subsequent captivity leave Takizawa fractured, and he re-emerges as a member of Aogiri Tree, radically changed from the earnest young investigator he once was. His arc traces one of the series' darkest paths — a man broken by the very system he tried to prove himself within, and slowly, painfully working his way back from it.
