Shiro is the other half of the sibling duo Blank alongside her step-brother Sora, and the calculating counterpart to his instinct for reading people. An eleven-year-old shut-in with an eidetic memory, she has never lost a game of chess, speaks eighteen languages, and picked up the entire grammar of Immanity's language in under fifteen minutes — a feat that took Sora an hour. What she struggles with, by her own admission, is emotion: she speaks in short, clipped sentences and often can't parse what other people are feeling without Sora's help.
Away from the chessboard, Shiro is dryly sarcastic, a little jealous whenever Sora's attention drifts toward another girl, and hides a mild sadistic streak she rarely lets show. Her attachment to her brother borders on total: separated by so much as a closed door, she becomes withdrawn and unable to function until he returns, a dependency that runs both ways between them and that the siblings have learned to work around rather than break.
Where Sora reads an opponent's face and motives, Shiro reads the numbers underneath a game, and it's this split — logic paired with instinct — that made Blank unbeatable online and now keeps the throne of Elkia standing under two teenage rulers. She is especially close with the young werebeast Izuna Hatsuse, and treats Elkia's princess Stephanie Dola with a teasing, sisterly distance that masks real affection.
