Synopsis
Ryōko Sakaki is a 92nd-generation Tōtsuki student and a resident of the Polar Star Dormitory, born into the Sakaki family, which runs a well-known kōji and fermented-goods shop. Her culinary forte reflects that heritage, centering on fermentation, and she was accepted into Tōtsuki's middle school section before earning a room at the dormitory.
Gentle, mature and level-headed compared to her more eccentric dorm mates, Ryōko is often the calm center that others lean on, especially Yūki Yoshino, whom she frequently comforts. Several of the female students affectionately call her Ane-san, or big sister, for exactly this reason.
Ryōko became close friends with fellow 92nd-generation dorm residents Yūki Yoshino and Megumi Tadokoro, and the trio often practiced cooking together during their first year. She and Yūki are usually the ones who notice when something is quietly wrong, as when they grew concerned over Megumi and Sōma's prolonged absence during the Training Camp.
