Synopsis
Nao Sadatsuka is a 92nd-generation Tōtsuki student whose culinary specialty leans toward pungent, foul-smelling ingredients, matching her unsettling reputation around campus. Her defining trait is an intense, obsessive infatuation with Erina Nakiri that predates the story by at least two years, expressed through daily love letters and long-distance surveillance with binoculars.
Nao once challenged Erina's secretary Hisako Arato to a Shokugeki for the right to serve Erina personally, and lost decisively, a defeat that earned her a standing ban from coming within fifty meters of Erina and left her nursing a deep grudge against Hisako. After tasting one of Hisako's dishes during the Autumn Election, Nao's obsession expands to include her as well, much to Hisako's visible discomfort.
Beneath the eerie exterior, complete with long black hair often compared to a horror-film ghost, Nao holds genuine respect for Sōma Yukihira, whose taste for deliberately unpleasant food mirrors her own, a shared sensibility strong enough that she eventually forgives him for spending an entire week alongside Hisako.
