Synopsis
Itsuki Marude is a Special Class investigator who commands the 11th Ward Special Countermeasures Unit and later serves as Chief of Division II, eventually becoming director of the peacekeeping organization TSC. His career stretches back to his time as Kishou Arima's superior when Arima was still working undercover as a teenager.
Dedicated and serious about his work, Marude holds his colleagues to a strict standard but is far from indifferent to their wellbeing — he is openly critical of Kureo Mado's reckless obsession with quinques, viewing Mado's death as a natural consequence of that fixation rather than a tragedy to mourn uncritically.
Blunt and occasionally abrasive with subordinates like Yukinori Shinohara, Marude nonetheless proves to be one of the CCG's more clear-eyed leaders, willing to speak difficult truths about the organization's failures even when it costs him popularity among his own ranks.
