Synopsis
Phinks Magcub is member #5 of the Phantom Troupe and one of its founders. Like the rest of the group's core, he comes from Meteor City, a junkyard settlement whose residents appear in no official record — which makes gathering intelligence on him nearly impossible. He took part in the massacre of the Kurta Clan.
Tall and heavily built, he has blond hair, black eyes and a distinctive lack of eyebrows. He first appears dressed in a pharaoh-like outfit complete with a serpent headpiece, but is far more often seen in a tracksuit. His spider tattoo bears the number 5, though its position on his body has never been shown.
Short-tempered and ruthless, Phinks picks fights easily — including with his own comrades — and insists on punctuality from them. He is closest to Feitan, with whom he frequently pairs up in and out of combat, and his loyalty to Chrollo is absolute: he was the first to move against Kurapika after their leader was captured.
His fighting style centres on snapping an opponent's neck quickly, while his signature Nen technique, Ripper Cyclotron, winds his arm before a strike so that each rotation adds to its force. He is voiced by KENN in the 2011 series and Yoshiaki Matsumoto in the 1999 one.
