Synopsis
Urara Kawashima is a 92nd-generation Tōtsuki student best known as a popular emcee for the academy's major events, from Shokugeki duels to the opening ceremonies of the Autumn Election. Her role gives her an encyclopedic awareness of nearly every notable student's reputation, which she puts to constant use while hosting.
Urara enjoys the spotlight and adopts an idol-like, cutesy persona whenever she's on stage, earning a large following among the male student body, much to the irritation of her female classmates. Beneath that friendly exterior lies real jealousy: she bristles whenever attention shifts to another woman, whether that's Ikumi Mito during Sōma's first Shokugeki or Miyoko Hōjō during the Autumn Election preliminaries.
Despite the rivalry she feels, Urara stays professional in her role, correctly calling Sōma Yukihira's victory over Ikumi in his very first duel even while visibly startled by his unorthodox cooking. During the Promotion Exam arc, she is briefly brainwashed by Azami Nakiri, turning openly hostile and one-sided before returning to herself.
