Synopsis
Satoshi Isshiki is a 91st-generation Tōtsuki alumnus, a former resident of the Polar Star Dormitory, and previously the 2nd seat of the Elite Ten Council. Born the eldest son of the prestigious Isshiki family, which has run a traditional Japanese restaurant in Kyoto since the Muromachi period, he was pushed into rigorous training from early childhood and grew up feeling nothing for cooking until he was fostered for a time with the Kinokuni family and watched their daughter cook with genuine joy.
Satoshi embodies the Polar Star Dormitory's quirky, rebellious spirit: laid-back, often seen wearing little more than an apron, and quick to defend the dorm's residents from anyone who looks down on them. Behind the easygoing exterior is a sharp, calculating competitor who holds back against weaker opponents but shows no mercy once someone insults his home or friends.
He deliberately abandoned his family's traditional style in favor of a unique cooking philosophy that draws criticism from his relatives, unbothered by their disapproval. Satoshi expresses unconditional faith in the abilities of his juniors, including Sōma Yukihira, and formed a lasting bond with Gin Dōjima during his first Tōtsuki training camp.
