Synopsis
Gin Dōjima is a 69th-generation Tōtsuki alumnus, a former resident of the Polar Star Dormitory, and a previous 1st seat of the Elite Ten Council, now serving as General Head Chef and a board member of Tōtsuki Resort. He passed the dormitory's entrance exam with flying colors and, alongside close friend Jōichirō Yukihira, helped drive the Polar Star's legendary Golden Era, winning enough Shokugekis to make the dormitory financially self-sufficient for decades.
Serious, strict and demanding, Gin treats every student at his Training Camp like an employee and has no tolerance for failure, a management style that has made Tōtsuki Resort one of the finest hotels in the world. He is deeply loyal to tradition, still sending Fumio Daimidō a card every Obon and New Year, and possesses a sharp eye for hidden talent that few students realize they've earned until later.
When Jōichirō vanished under the weight of his own success just before a major competition, it was Gin who found him and later blamed himself for missing the warning signs. Gin went on to turn down hundreds of prestigious job offers out of guilt before Senzaemon Nakiri recruited him to guide future Tōtsuki generations instead.
