Synopsis
Cain Barzad is a former Holy Knight of the destroyed kingdom of Danafor, one of the few survivors since he was away on a mission when the kingdom fell. Disguised as an ordinary elderly traveler, he later guides Meliodas and the Seven Deadly Sins to the Vaizel Fight Festival and even competes in it himself.
Reserved but genuinely friendly, Cain carries himself with a certain air of mystery, yet remains fiercely loyal to Danafor's memory and its ideals long after the kingdom's fall. He initially holds Meliodas responsible for the destruction and confronts him with real hurt and suspicion, but the two reconcile once Cain learns the truth, and he is visibly moved by Meliodas's honesty.
Cain's history with Meliodas runs deep: as a knight of Danafor he witnessed Meliodas spare Liz from execution and grew to accept her as one of their own, later receiving her sword as a keepsake. Despite his old age, he retains a youthful energy and warmth, greeting old friends like Howzer and Taizoo with easy familiarity.
