Akame

Akame is the titular heroine of Akame ga Kill! and one of the founding members of Night Raid, the assassination unit fighting to overthrow the corrupt Empire. As a child she was sold, together with her younger sister Kurome, into the Empire's brutal assassin training program; the two survived a deadly forest trial but were split into rival squads, with Akame rising through the elite ranks as a skilled killer wielding the demonic blade Murasame.

Sent on a mission to assassinate the rebel general Najenda, Akame instead recognized the Empire's rot and defected to join Night Raid. Outwardly she comes across as cold and unshakeable, a trait shaped by years of hardened training, but those close to her — especially Tatsumi — learn that her stoicism hides deep loyalty and grief over comrades lost in battle. Her quiet, private wish is simply to one day stand on the same side of the war as her sister again.
