Synopsis
Luka Urushibara is a classmate of Mayuri Shiina and considers himself an unofficial protégé of Rintarou Okabe. He serves as a shrine maiden at Yanabayashi Shrine, run by his father, Eisuke Urushibara. Despite being biologically male, Luka has an extremely feminine appearance and manner on most timelines.
He is highly sensitive and easily moved to tears, even by a passing offhand comment from Okabe. His father and older sister raised him to dress and behave like a girl from childhood, and the habit runs so deep that Kurisu mistook him for female the first time they met, even though Luka himself longs to feel more masculine.
His bond with Okabe began in Akihabara, when Okabe stepped in to stop two men who had mistaken Luka for a female cosplayer and were harassing him for photos. Okabe has since become his informal swordsmanship teacher to help build his confidence, while Luka quietly harbors complicated, deep feelings for the person who first defended him.
