Koutarou Takebayashi

Kotaro Takebayashi is a student in Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School, a quiet but noticeably eccentric boy who stands out as the classroom's oddball. He's also fairly clumsy physically, getting hit in the glasses by ping-pong balls and nearly losing his balance during Tadaomi Karasuma's training sessions.

Takebayashi initially wanted to leave Class 3-E as soon as possible, ashamed of being placed there, but ultimately stays once he realizes how much the class and Korosensei genuinely care about him. He's also a dedicated anime fan with strong, rather idiosyncratic opinions about female characters.

His family is wealthy and has produced doctors for generations; both of his older brothers study medicine at the University of Tokyo, piling enormous pressure on him, and after landing in Class 3-E he becomes something of an outcast within his own family. After the series, Takebayashi goes on to work alongside Manami Okuda, expanding medical research built on Korosensei's legacy.
