Synopsis
Tadaomi Karasuma is a former elite soldier of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force turned Ministry of Defense agent, placed in charge of the operation to assassinate Korosensei. He later becomes the physical education teacher of Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School.
Strict but fair, Karasuma keeps a professional distance from his students while genuinely caring about their wellbeing. He is famously oblivious to romantic hints, taking a long time to notice his colleague Irina Jelavić's feelings, though he eventually comes to terms with his own.
Before joining the ministry, Karasuma served with the 1st Airborne Brigade, respected for his discipline and physical prowess as a drill instructor. After being promoted to warrant officer, he was assigned to oversee the containment of the creature that would become Korosensei, and once the school year begins he joins Class 3-E's faculty, training the students in combat, small-unit tactics, and physical conditioning.
Throughout the series, Karasuma acts as the link between the class, Chairman Gakuho Asano, and the government, while also recruiting other professional assassins, including Irina Jelavić, to assist the mission.
