Synopsis
Irina Jelavić is the English teacher of Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School and a professional hitwoman hired by the government to help assassinate Korosensei. The students nickname her Bitch-sensei for her sharp, dismissive attitude, though beneath the model looks and formidable kill count is someone far more vulnerable.
Initially cold and condescending toward her students, Irina eventually lets her guard down to reveal a childish, socially awkward side shaped by insecurities dating back to her childhood. She doesn't give up easily, and her relative youth lets her connect with her students once she sets her ego aside.
Born in Serbia, Irina lost both parents at age twelve when an armed militia attacked her village during the Yugoslav Wars; she survived by killing the man who murdered them. Discovered afterward by Olga and Lovro, she was offered a choice between a refugee's life haunted by that memory or training as an assassin, and chose the latter, becoming one of the deadliest hitwomen in the trade under Olga's guidance.
In Class 3-E, Irina grows close to physical education teacher Tadaomi Karasuma, and their partnership eventually develops into something far more than professional.
