Synopsis
Manami Okuda is a student in Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School, a gifted chemist nicknamed Poison Specs by her classmates for her habit of concocting experimental toxins and antidotes.
Somewhat awkward, shy, and introverted, Okuda has weak communication skills that often make her come across as bluntly direct, occasionally embarrassing the people around her without meaning to. Despite her introversion, she's a kind and remarkably determined girl who genuinely wants to be useful to her friends. Getting to know Korosensei gradually builds her confidence, teaching her to express herself far more freely than before.
Little of her family background is explored in the series, but Okuda's chemistry skills repeatedly prove decisive in the class's schemes against Korosensei, and she goes on to pursue a career as a researcher after graduation.
