Synopsis
Nagisa Shiota is the protagonist and narrator of Assassination Classroom, a student in Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School. Calm, observant, and quiet, he keeps detailed notes on Korosensei's every habit, hoping to unravel the secret of the creature threatening to destroy Earth.
Raised by a domineering mother who wanted a daughter and forced a feminine image onto him for years, Nagisa grew up shy and self-effacing, often describing himself as invisible. That same unremarkable presence, however, becomes his greatest strength, letting him watch unnoticed, read people accurately, and stay level-headed in situations that would rattle anyone else.
He spent his first two years of middle school in a regular class alongside Karma Akabane before falling grades landed him in Class 3-E. There he grows close to Kaede Kayano, who gives him the twin ponytails that become his trademark look.
Over the course of the year, Nagisa doesn't just train as an assassin — he gradually discovers a natural talent for reading and influencing people that will go on to shape his future.
