Synopsis
Karma Akabane is a student in Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School and one of the closest friends of Nagisa Shiota. He was transferred to the class after being suspended for violent behavior, and his reputation as a troublemaker makes him one of the most feared students in the school.
Cunning, sadistic, and perpetually relaxed, Karma enjoys provoking and manipulating people around him, but underneath the mischief lies a sharp intellect and genuine combat skill. Despite his delinquent image, he excels academically, though he usually hides his effort behind a facade of laziness.
He comes from a wealthy family of financial traders who travel constantly and leave him largely on his own, which shaped his self-reliant streak early on. His friendship with Nagisa predates Class 3-E, and while the two drifted apart for a time, fate reunites them once both land in the assassination classroom.
Recognizing Korosensei as a worthy opponent, Karma quickly becomes one of the class's fiercest bounty hunters, and just as importantly, one of its most dependable allies.
