Synopsis
Kaede Kayano is a student in Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School and one of the closest friends of Nagisa Shiota. Cheerful, kind, and always ready to support her classmates, she frequently provides tactical support during assassination attempts thanks to her sharp read on any situation.
Her real name is actually Akari Yukimura, the younger sister of former Class 3-E teacher Aguri Yukimura, who died during the creature's first violent transformation into what would become Korosensei. Before enrolling, Akari had been a promising young actress under a stage name, but she abandoned that career and infiltrated the assassination class under a new identity to learn the truth behind her sister's death.
The bubbly, sweets-loving personality that endears Kayano to her classmates started out as a deliberate act, but between the tentacle cells altering her body and her genuine bonds with the class, those traits gradually become part of who she really is. Her friendship with Nagisa and the rest of Class 3-E deepens over the year, despite the grim purpose that first brought her there.
