Synopsis
Yuuki Shibayama is a libero for Nekoma High who, as a first-year, spends most of his time alongside teammate Inuoka and often feels overshadowed by more experienced players. Despite this, Shibayama genuinely admires his upperclassmen's skill, particularly setter Kenma Kozume, whom he defends whenever someone underestimates his contribution compared to flashier players.
Shy and easily rattled, yet quietly determined, Shibayama grows steadily more confident over the course of the series. Being subbed in for an injured Morisuke Yaku becomes a real trial by fire — under pressure, he briefly doubts himself, calling himself the weak link, before his teammates help him regain his composure.
As of 2021, Shibayama plays libero for a Division 2 club, Tokai Heavy Industries Esperanza.
