Synopsis
Morisuke Yaku is Nekoma High's starting libero, whose relationship with Tetsurou Kuroo got off to a rocky start as first-years — Yaku's junior high had once beaten Kuroo's decisively, and even though Yaku barely remembered the match, the two clashed over almost everything for a while. Things settled once both admitted they shared the same goal of winning nationals.
Honest, straightforward, and hardworking, Yaku takes real pride in playing libero — defending for a team known specifically for its powerful defense is something he considers an honor. Off the court, he looks out for the team's younger players, particularly Shibayama and Lev, in an almost parental way that earned him the half-joking nickname demon senpai from Kuroo. He is genuinely sensitive about his short height, though, a subject the rest of Nekoma has learned to avoid bringing up.
After graduating, Yaku continued his career in Russia, playing for a professional club in the Russian Volleyball Super League, and earned a place on Japan's national team.
