Synopsis
Hiroko Seto is an accomplished pianist who becomes Kousei Arima's mentor and guardian after he decides to return to the piano. She is the mother of Koharu Seto and was a close friend of Kousei's late mother, Saki Arima, having looked after Saki in the time before her death.
Outwardly upbeat and full of energy, Hiroko is a genuinely warm and sensitive person underneath, standing behind Kousei's choices even when he doubts himself. At the same time, she carries real guilt: it was partly her own encouragement that once pushed Saki to raise her son as a pianist, a decision she now recognizes cost him a great deal.
She is a tall, athletically built woman with straight, shoulder-length black hair, a single strand swept to the left, and deep navy-blue eyes.
