Satotz

Satotz is a Ruins Hunter and the examiner of the First Phase of the 287th Hunter Exam. He led all 404 applicants through a tunnel of more than eighty kilometres beneath Zaban City and then out across the treacherous Numere Wetlands.

He has pale lavender hair that curls at the ends, blue eyes and a long pointed chin. His most striking features are a thin curled moustache and the apparent absence of a mouth — though he is seen chewing food before the exam's final stage. Throughout the exam he wears a dark coat with a red tie.

Calm and sparing with words, he guides the applicants largely in silence, offering instructions only occasionally. He took an immediate liking to Gon and encouraged him once the phase was over.

It was Ging Freecss who inspired him to obtain a Hunter License in the first place; Satotz admires him deeply and hopes one day to meet him and say so. Voiced by Toshio Furukawa in the 2011 series and Hitoshi Bifu in the 1999 one.
