Synopsis
Yukari Sakuragi is Class 3-3's female class representative in 1998, a role she holds until her death early in the school year passes it on to Izumi Akazawa. Kind and friendly by nature, she is one of the first students to welcome Kouichi Sakakibara when he transfers in, even sitting out gym class with him after injuring her ankle.
Her warmth toward Kouichi occasionally borders on flirtation, and the two share a quiet, easy conversation walking home in the rain not long before her death. That same friendliness turns to panic whenever Mei Misaki's name comes up, a reaction that only makes sense once the truth about the class's arrangement becomes clear.
Yukari's death, triggered by news of a family tragedy and a moment of fear near Mei, is the first the class witnesses directly, and it sets much of Class 3-3's dread for the rest of the year in motion. Even after her death, she resurfaces in Kouichi's guilt-driven dreams, a sign of how heavily her loss weighs on him.
