Synopsis
Yuuya Mochizuki is an upperclassman in the school's art club and one of Kouichi Sakakibara's first friends in Class 3-3. Quiet and shy around strangers but warm with people he trusts, he shares the club with Mei Misaki and initially uses that position to keep other members away from her without ever explaining why.
His older half-sister, Tomoka Inose, works at a café the family owns, which later becomes an important meeting point once the class starts investigating the year's curse. Unlike most of his classmates, Yuuya is reluctant to go along with the class's harsher rules, and he eventually risks Izumi Akazawa's anger by helping Kouichi and Mei rather than isolating them.
Easily pressured by more forceful classmates, Yuuya nonetheless proves steadier than he looks under real danger, staying loyal to his closest friend, Naoya Teshigawara, through the worst of the summer's events. His quiet insistence on doing the right thing, even reluctantly, makes him one of the few students who comes out of the story with his friendships mostly intact.
