Marmas

Marmas is a Ruby-ranked Holy Knight nicknamed Roly-Poly for the unusual, near-spherical plate armor he wears, which encases his entire body. He led fellow knights Guila and Jericho during the assault on the town of Vaizel, putting him in a position of real authority over knights who would later play much larger roles in the story.

Like many Holy Knights loyal to Hendrickson, Marmas shows little concern for civilians caught up in the conflict with the Seven Deadly Sins, most notably when he targets the giant Diane without hesitation even as she is trying to rescue an injured bystander. His speech has a distinctive broken cadence, and he punctuates the activation of his power with an odd, sing-song chant.

That power, a form of gravity manipulation, lets him crush or fling opponents with sheer weight rather than brute strength. Marmas dies during the Holy Knights' assault on the castle where the Seven Deadly Sins were framed and captured, one of many casualties in the conspiracy that set the series' plot in motion.
