Synopsis
Manabu Maejima is a member of the school's kendo club and a Class 3-3 student who joins the class trip in hopes, like many of his classmates, that it might help put an end to the year's calamity. Quiet and unassuming, he rarely draws attention to himself before the trip.
He is present when Izumi Akazawa confronts Mei Misaki at dinner, though he takes no side in the argument, staying out of the growing tension between the two.
Later that night, badly wounded after a violent encounter at the inn, Manabu manages to warn Kouichi Sakakibara about a fire breaking out nearby before Kouichi gets him to safety. He survives his injuries, recovering in the hospital in the days that follow.
