Liver

Liver is the leader of the Three Beasts, Esdeath's personal squad of bodyguards, and wields the water-manipulating Teigu Black Marlin. A once-respected general in the Empire's army, he was falsely accused and imprisoned after refusing to bow to Prime Minister Honest's corrupt demands — until Esdeath, recognizing his talent, freed him on the condition he join her forces.

Grateful for his rescue, Liver becomes fiercely loyal to Esdeath, willing to follow her orders without hesitation, though he never loses his contempt for the corrupt officials who once destroyed his career. His past catches up with him when he crosses paths again with Bulat, a former comrade now fighting for Night Raid; the two battle to the death, and although Liver ultimately falls, he manages to fatally poison Bulat before he dies.
