Synopsis
Kanichi Konishi is a 91st-generation Tōtsuki student, founder and president of the Don RS, and known to his club members simply as The Don for his singular devotion to donburi rice bowls. Despite the nickname, he lacks the courage to stand up to higher-ranked figures like Erina Nakiri and is easily cowed by bolder underclassmen, including Ikumi Mito.
Kanichi's trademark pompadour visibly reflects his mood, drooping when he's despondent and standing tall the moment anyone shows genuine interest in donburi, a passion that remains undiminished no matter how bleak things get for his club. When Erina began systematically challenging and disbanding clubs she considered unnecessary, every other Don RS member fled, leaving Kanichi to face intimidation from Ikumi entirely alone.
His fortunes turn only after a certain transfer student takes an interest in the club's near-empty clubroom, giving the Don RS, and Kanichi's confidence, a second chance. He gave Ikumi the advice that inspired her signature biker-style jacket, a small detail that speaks to the genuine bond between them despite his usual timidity.
