Synopsis
Hiyori Iki is Noragami's female lead: an ordinary schoolgirl until the day she pushes Yato out of the path of a truck and is struck herself. She survives, but ever since, her soul can slip loose from her body without warning, leaving her half-human and half-ayakashi — caught, quite literally, between the world of the living and the world of spirits.
Rather than running from that, Hiyori chooses to stay close to Yato and his shinki Yukine, helping them with jobs even though severing the tie would be her safest route back to a normal life. She is kind-hearted and brave to a fault, quick to notice good intentions behind other people's rough words, though her earnestness can tip into naivety. An enthusiastic martial-arts fan, she idolizes a fighter named Touno and models her own technique on his, and over the course of the story she grows from an easily flustered teenager, daughter of Sayuri and Takamasa Iki, into someone who eventually pursues medicine.
